I hold a B.F.A from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and an M.A. in lithography from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. I have been honored to receive a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant, a Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Printmaking and a Bush Foundation Fellowship. My list of exhibitions includes the MAEP Gallery of the MIA and inclusion in exhibitions at the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, the Minnesota Museum of American Art, the College of St. Thomas, the Katherine E. Nash Gallery and Form+Content Gallery, among others. I have completed artist residencies in Fargo, ND at the Plains Art Museum and in Salzburg, Germany, thanks to the generosity of the Anderson Center in Red Wing. My work is in the collections of the Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Minnesota Museum of American Art, the Princeton Rare Book Collection and the Minnesota History Center. MN Originals produced a short video showing my process in creating the lithograph Modernists Go Mobile. It can be viewed at: //www.tpt.org/mn-original/resource/faye-passow-lithographer/.
In 2001 I started my own business, Keep the Faye, designing tea towels for the gift trade based on an image, Minnesota: Principal Hot Dish by Region, which was exhibited at the Minnesota State Fair in 1997. My Keep the Faye line has expanded to include a state-shaped casserole, dish ware, melamine trays and additional fabric and paper goods. These are listed for sale on Etsy at Keep The Faye.
In 2022 I gave a talk to the North American Cartographic Information Society covering my history with map design : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NViqYHzjHMQ It is about a 20 minute lecture with questions following.
