How Aliens Avoid Detection

How Aliens Avoid Detection is a hand-pulled lithograph. The image size is 14″ by 18″ and the paper size is 18″ by 22″. The image is printed on Arches Cover, an archival rag paper. This original lithograph is available unframed (shrink wrapped with foam core) or framed with a rag mat, black frame and archival materials including UV filtering glass.  Contact me for an image of the framed artwork.

This lithograph was completed at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. It is a 6-color lithograph, hand drawn and printed by Faye Passow. The black run was drawn first using razor blades to achieve tone by scraping away a thin layer of ink from a fully inked litho stone. The stone has a fine texture and the scraping removes ink and particles of stone to reveal the light areas. This image is then printed on mylar and becomes the template for the color runs which are also drawn on a litho stone. Each color is drawn separately and printed from a stone after which the image is erased from the stone so the next can be drawn. The black image is printed last. Hand lithographs are multiple originals. This lithograph has a limited edition of 32. Each one is an original.
