Art-A-Whirl open hours

Come see a hand-cranked circular knitting machine used to make socks for Nokomis Knitting Company.
The machine is newly manufactured but based on the the antique machines used during WWI and WWII to make socks for the troops to help prevent trench foot and gangrene.

No need to come at a specific time as demos will be ongoing throughout the day.

We love to share our process and how our socks are made and talk about how our socks are different than the socks you can buy in stores.

(Of course, socks made using the machine will be available for purchase.)

Art 4 Shelter (A4S) is an annual fundraiser for Simpson Housing Services, where generous artists donate art for a large art sale, marketplace, and online auction. This is Simpson’s largest fundraising event and proceeds benefit Simpson’s mission to house, support, and empower people impacted by homelessness.
