Francesca Miguieles

Francesca (she/they) is a Chilean artist residing in Twin Cities, Minnesota since 2016. Her work is formed on her personal experience as a Queer Latina Immigrant. Her early pieces focus on the female nude figure and illustrate her varied emotions on how women’s bodies are perceived, consumed and affected by society. Her recent work searches to open awareness within discourses of personal identity, the human experience and the intersection of the idea of “self” and one’s body. 

Francesca’s work ranges from oil paintings, charcoal and ink drawings to photography, collaging and mixed media. She focuses on sustainability as most of her materials have been found or donated to her.

Francesca attended Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in Santiago, Chile and Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze in Florence, Italy before graduating Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Drawing & Painting, Minor in Art History. Francesca has had the privilege and honor of curating and being part of several gallery shows in the US and her home country, Chile. Some places include Q. Arma Building, Vine Arts Center, Fresh Eye Gallery, Galería Fauna, and more. After graduating she focused on being part of art fairs in the Twin Cities, including the St Paul Art Crawl, Art-A-Whirl, Art at St Kates, Minnehaha Falls Art Fair, Minneapolis Craft Markets, Jackalope, MCAD Art Sale and more.
