Metro Transit Lines that run through NE:

  • 4 (Connects to South Minneapolis/Edina – up Johnson St NE)
  • 6 (Connects to South Minneapolis/Edina – up Main St & A-Mill)
  • 10 (Connects to Fridley, Columbia Heights, South Mpls – up Central Ave NE)
  • 11 (Connects to Downtown, South Minneapolis via 4th St – up 2nd Ave & California Building
  • 17 (Connects to St. Louis Park, Downtown, – up Monroe St, then Washington, Lowry: Flux Arts, Holland Arts, Casket Arts buildings)
  • 30 (Connects Prospect Park, Lauderdale, the Quarry, up Broadway St NE)
  • 32 (Connects Robbinsdale to N Mpls, to Lowry St NE & Edison High School)
  • 61 (Connects 2010 Artblok to Minneapolis Cider Co and SE Minneapolis)

Quincy Street Closure

The Quincy Street closure will take place leading up to and during the hours of Art-A-Whirl. This closure for safety purposes: to keep motorized vehicles and pedestrians from interacting too closely.

Hard Closures (no cars beyond this point):

  • Q.arma Building – 1224 Quincy St NE. No car access to Quincy Hall Parking lot.
  • Solar Arts Building – 711 15th Ave NE. Resident access to the alley only.
  • 14th & Van Buren. Access to Northrup King Building Parking lot only.

Soft Closures: (only parking lot access)

  • 14th Ave NE & Central Ave. Access to Northrup King Building and Timber & Tie Apartments (private) only.
  • 15th & Monroe. Resident access to the alley only.

Quincy St & Broadway. Access to paid parking at Highlight Center Only. No street parking on Quincy St NE.

Art-A-Whirl Trolleys

Sponsored by the NE Lions Club and Northeast Bank, these free Trolleys will run during Art-A-Whirl hours. A loop through the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District takes roughly 30 minutes, with a trolley visiting a stop every 10-15 minutes. Three (3) Trolleys will run on Friday and Sunday, with five (5) operating on Saturday.

Art-A-Whirl Trolley Hours

  • Friday, May 16th: 5–10pm
  • Saturday, May 17th: 12–8pm
  • Sunday, May 18th: 12–5pm

  • Riverplace Ramp (30 2nd St SE) – 1 block from Central Ave – park and ride Metro Transit!

Bike racks are located throughout NE, but there will be three large stations of bike racks at:

Southwest Transit Park & Ride

New this year! Southwest Transit will be offering shuttle service on Saturday, May 17th from Chaska, Chanhassen, and Eden Prairie, with drop-off and pick-up at Sociable Cider Werks (1500 Fillmore St NE).

Round-Trip Fares:

  • Adults: $6 (exact change required)
  • Children 5 and Under Ride Free
  • Disabled Veterans (with ID) Ride Free
