Ice and Stone

In Minneapolis, you can find the beautiful Minnehaha Falls. I’m a sucker for a good waterfall and having one so close will inevitably cause me to keep visiting. This particular time was in the middle of winter. It had been very cold for awhile but when a rare warm day popped up, I decided to meet a friend in front of the now frozen falls. I went there with my camera gear with the intent to photograph the frozen falls but hadn’t decided if I wanted to climb up behind the frozen sheets of ice. But after seeing it, my love of adventure kicked in, plus others were already behind it. It was a slippery climb up, the days warm weather and the previous people doing the same thing had made it a bit precarious. But I loved every moment of exploring back there. It was an amazing experience and so close to home!
