I am a landscape and fine art photographer that was born with an innate wanderlust and a knack for getting lost. My wanderlust has taken me to a wide variety of places but where I find myself most at home is out in the natural world. It’s in these explorations of the outdoors where I find a sense of peace and a connection with nature, you could say it’s my ‘happy place’. It’s like the naturalist John Muir said, “Keep close to Nature’s heart…and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.” In my effort of keeping ‘close to Nature’s heart,’ I have traveled to and spent time exploring a wide range of landscapes, from the peaks of mountains to the depths of caves, all in an effort to connect and commune with nature. For me, photographing these landscapes is a way to preserve a moment and a feeling. It’s akin to photographing a friend and preserving a moment you shared together. It is in those moments, and my ever evolving relationship with nature, that I want to share with others so we can all try and take solace in nature and realize its importance to not just the planet but for the individual soul as well.
