The Art of Resistance
https://www.mplsart.com/events/art-of-resistance
Artists have always played a part in the resistance. In times of struggle, war, heartbreak and injustice, art interrupts and exposes, mocks and disarms and pushes for collective action. Join us at Supercharged Printmakers for the opening of Art of Resistance to see how artists engage viewers and encourage the community to claim their roles in the resistance.
Artists have always been part of the resistance. In times of struggle, war, heartbreak, and injustice, art interrupts and exposes, mocks and disarms, and pushes for collective action. Screen printing is a medium with close ties to activism, with posters, banners, and t-shirts that provide voice to the people, challenging others to think, question and reimagine. The Art of Resistance is a show that provides space for artists to use their craft to engage viewers and encourage the community to claim their roles in the resistance.
