Melinda Wolff’s handmade sustainable jewelry is created with reclaimed wood scraps from her husband’s wood shop. The jewelry is brought to life with a clear resin coating that magnifies and accentuates the natural colors of the wood. Distinctive and one-of-a-kind, each piece by Melinda Wolff makes a statement that emphasizes nature’s beauty.
The collection of oil paintings on wood is inspired by nature to bring out the art of nature. Each painting highlights and accentuates the unique features of the wood including live edges, bark, worm holes, and wood grain, all of which guide the brushstrokes.
Environmental concerns are very important for Melinda’s practice as a whole and she strives to use responsibly sourced and reclaimed materials in her work, bringing together her visual content and the material substance of her creations in support of a sustainable nature-friendly approach.
Melinda Wolff is a visual artist based in White Bear Township, Minnesota who works across a variety of media including oil and watercolor painting, stained glass, and jewelry design. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art from the College of St. Benedict.
