When I paint these landscapes I am thinking about the subtleties, the layers and the light. I am mesmerized by the expansive space of the land and how do we capture that space. We all have our own histories with the environment that surrounds us, and with the landscapes we have visited. These paintings are not any place in particular but they are familiar. Minimalist yet evoking. They are universal experiences and they are teachers.

Kimberly Tschida Petters is a Saint Paul, Minnesota artist. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Drawing and Painting from the University of Minnesota. The midwestern landscape, specifically between Minnesota and Wisconsin has greatly influenced her work. Her work can be found in the collection of University of Minnesota and in private collections in Minnesota and California.
