Photography at its most basic level is about capturing a moment in time using light.   Light sets a mood, tells a story, creates energy in an image.  And the “Right Light” will be different for each person and each story being told. I tailor lighting, setting, wardrobe, expression and pose to create one-of-a-kind images that highlight the unique qualities of each individual and the moment we will capture together in light, whether it be for business reasons (business headshot, talent headshot, branding, product, event, etc.) or personal (social media profile image, Senior Portrait, Maternity, family portraits).

In my private studio overlooking downtown Minneapolis you’ll find a safe, welcoming creative space where professional lighting and backdrops, along with expert, natural and respectful retouching and post-processing, result in an authentic yet timeless look in the final product!

Before your session, we will chat in person, by phone or email about your goals for your shoot, which will help guide the direction of the session including location, lighting, wardrobe and hair/makeup.  We might additionally put together a “Mood Board” of sample images from Pinterest, magazines, etc. to help clarify and direct our respective visions for the final images.

The studio is located in Northeast Minneapolis’ historic Casket Arts Building, home to over 100 artists, craftspeople and jewelers.  The stunning common spaces within this vintage building are also available for use as a creative backdrop for our portrait session, in addition to the studio setting.
