Donna Bruni

“I’m interested in places we are drawn to in our lives and stories that belong to these places.”

American artist, Donna Bruni, is known for creating atmospheric oil paintings on canvas. She uses broad, richly layered planes of color to evoke a sense of place within the canvas surface. The compositions are based on temporal elements of our shared environments — air, water, sky, clouds, land, light patterns, movement and texture. Conceptually, the canvases focus on perception of time and space, looking at edges, boundaries and transitions throughout the painting process.

Travel in many regions of Italy, Spain, Central America and the United States provide diverse geographic references, artistic influences and cultural histories.
