The creative process has always fascinated me so I started painting as a hobby 8 years ago after taking art classes with my twin daughters. The more I learn and experienced painting the more my interest has grown. I use acrylic and oil painting to capture the rural bucolic landscapes and waterscapes but also create abstract work inspired by the natural world.
The focus of my recent work is on animals and other living things in Minnesota. I am hoping to evoke an interest in our natural world by pulling these living things out of their typical surroundings or change their form and therefor view them in different and more provocative way.
