Clare is a St. Paul born artist, raised in the west of Ireland. Her main influence to become an artist was her father, David Pelzer. Another Minnesota native, he learned his skills by attending an art school in Minneapolis in the 80s and was able to pass on his lessons to his children.
Clare started out practice-sketching, with influence from the likes of Mad magazine artists and Norman Rockwell. She soon learned that she had a knack for creating detailed graphite portraits and made that her main focus.
Oil painting, charcoal and watercolor are newer mediums featured in her collection.
