Print – Two-Wheeled Escape

Archival giclee inkjet print, 14 x 12 (size includes one-inch white margins). Frame not included.

Giclee (pronounced zhee-klay) is the highest quality you can get when it comes to fine art reproductions. The word giclee comes from the French term “gicleur,” which means “to spray.” This refers to the printing process, where an inkjet printer sprays millions of microscopic ink droplets onto the paper.

Archival paper is acid-free and pH-balanced, which is a fancy way of saying it’s resistant to yellowing, fading and deterioration over many decades.

Locally printed at the Minneapolis studio, Arts District Imageworks, all of my prints start from a scan of the original painting (yes, even the huge ones!). Then I spend hours color-correcting the image with the team at Imageworks until the print matches the original piece. Scanning the art is key because it allows the final print to capture the details of the original painting.
