Square of Jay Cooke Favorite Spot
I’ve painted this spot in Jay Cooke State Park many times. The shape that is formed by the water rushing over a large rock is interesting to me. It comforts me that it remains constant through all the changes that have happened over the years. There have been times when the water is really high or really low, but the feeling of consistency remains.
This watercolor was painted about 10 years ago and mounted on a wood panel. Recently I repainted the edges with a dark blue acrylic paint and allowed the dark paint to brush in from the edges. I like the mood it created of peeking through the darkness to my favorite spot.
8″x8″ paper on wood panel with a hanger on the back. It is part of a series of 9 square wood panels, all painted dark blue on the edges. Inquire about a discount if you plan to purchase more than one.
