Notecards: Forage: Thistle

I exaggerated the prickliness of this thistle. The background makes use of the watercolor technique of crawlbacks. Normally watercolor artists avoid crawlbacks, and normally people avoid thistles, so it works!

It is a lot of work to prepare these for eating, but the result is similar to an artichoke heart. Always do your own research before eating foraged produce!
