Forage. Stinging Nettle
This is the third painting in the “Forage” series. I think it is important to know about plants you may encounter while hiking. This is a plant that is both dangerous and edible. Touching it to your bare skin will result in a painful rash for most people. Boiling it gets rid of the stinging quality and makes it edible. Some of the articles I read say to talk to your doctor before trying it. Not a bad idea.
Prints can be ordered from Fine Art America.
The original was painted in July 2021 using watercolor and archival ink on hot press watercolor paper. It is 12″x16″.
The frame is gray-brown wood with a black mat. 16″x20″
