Textile Center is unique as America’s national center for fiber art, with a mission to honor textile traditions, promote excellence and innovation, nurture appreciation, and inspire widespread participation in fiber arts.
The Center’s resources include exceptional fiber art exhibitions, an artisan shop, the region’s only accessible professional-grade dye lab, a natural dye plant garden, and one of the nation’s largest circulating textile libraries open to the public. Textile Center produces more than 200 classes a year for all ages and skill levels through its youth, adult, older adult, and outreach programs.

Textile Center proudly presents Stitching Black Legacy: The Quilts of Carolyn Mazloomi, the largest solo exhibition of Mazloomi’s work ever held under one roof. All of the quilts in this exhibition were created in 2024 and 2025.

Join us in welcoming Wendy Weiss for a special workshop on warp ikat dyeing with natural plant dyes in collaboration with the Weavers Guild of Minnesota. The first three days of the workshop (tying and dyeing) will be held at Textile Center, followed by two days at the Weavers Guild (warping and weaving).

Join Cookie Washington for a four-day workshop celebrating ancestral weaving and sustainable creativity through upcycled textiles. Using techniques inspired by her Cherokee, Berber, and Gullah heritage, Cookie will guide participants in transforming discarded fabrics into meaningful, eco-conscious art.
