Join Natalie Norman for a two-part embroidery class in which participants will design and make an embroidered sewing kit – called a “housewife” by early Americans, and common now in Scandinavia, where it is referred to as a “marsma”. Designs may vary somewhat and will give inspiration for your future projects. The finished product will hold embroidery scissors, needles and pins.
Class #1 (3/11): We will design and embroider the outside cover of the needle case.
Class #2 (3/18): Assemble layers together and bind the outside edge.
There may be a small amount of embroidery homework required between classes depending on the design chosen.
