Sculpting the Figure in Clay
Learn to create a figurative sculpture from a model in a standing pose in plasticine clay, suitable for molding and casting. You will be guided through the process during this in-depth class. To achieve a good figurative sculpture it’s important to understand the proportions and anatomy of the body, and to observe how individual characteristics create a likeness.
We will use a variety of study aids and observation exercises to learn to see and interpret the figure. Additional resources from participants are welcome.
Armature design and sculpting methods will also be covered.
All experience levels welcome!
