SAORI Weaving Workshop
Try your hand at SAORI weaving!
SAORI is a contemporary hand weaving style founded in Japan, which promotes a philosophy of free expression and exemplifies the differences between hand and machine weaving. This Zen, therapeutic method of free-style weaving without any rules or restrictions of what or how to weave can temporarily remove you from the stress of daily life.
Looms will be set up for all students so that everyone can start weaving. The instructor will bring a variety of material for you to choose from to weave with. You are welcome to bring your own yarn and fabric to incorporate, including scraps.
Be ready to feel like you are a 5-year-old!
