Patio – de Casa is an exploration of Edson Rosa’s Mexican roots, an exploration of a part of him that is open and full of warmth, and an exploration of anger. This exhibition will explore these themes using print, soft sculpture, and poetry. It will take inspiration from Mexican homes and create a space that feels like the outside has come in, like a patio. The pieces are often honest and open, making the personal become universal. The work is there to encapsulate you in a physical and emotional hug, it’s there to help you let out that “ugly cry” in order to feel better, it’s there to make you feel welcomed, and most importantly, it’s there for you to feel safe.
