I am a nonbinary Pakistani American artist who creates art pieces, jewelry, and accessories with materials including clear resin, real heirloom tomatoes from my garden in Minneapolis, other homegrown vegetables and plants, semi-precious stones, fabric, and dead bugs. Incorporating local produce into resin artwork, mainly produce I grow in my yard and in my local community garden, is a distinct and unique marker of my art style. Featuring prominently in much of my artwork are real heirloom tomatoes that I grow from seed and use to create different color palettes. My art often pairs homegrown produce in resin with Pakistani sheesha mirrors and/or boldly-colored floral motifs inspired by traditional Pakistani clothing and accessories.
