I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, with my parents and three sisters. My parents always fostered our curiosity and artistic interests, and our home was a hub of creativity. We had a dedicated workspace in the den for sewing and painting, and various art projects. My dad’s artwork adorned the walls. Art was simply a part of our everyday lives.
I discovered my passion for jewelry making in middle school, where I had the opportunity to create my first piece in an art class. My Art teacher played a pivotal role in igniting my love for this craft and setting me on the path I’m on today.
Fine Custom Jewelry and Modern Micro Mosaics.
45 years as a professional goldsmith.
I have always been fascinated by unusual gemstones and love creating unique pieces that showcase their beauty. I also enjoy working with clients to repurpose their old jewelry, transforming it into something new and meaningful.
Additionally, my Modern Micro Mosaic jewelry is inspired by Italian Micromosaics, but with a contemporary twist. I draw inspiration from quilts, artwork, and the natural world to create modern designs.
I have had my studio and business in NE Arts District since 2014.
I always look forward to Art-A-Whirl. The event has such a unique and amazing energy. It provides me with the opportunity to meet so many interesting people who often become wonderful clients. I may not have had the chance to connect with them otherwise. NEMAA does a truly amazing job of creating and promoting this fantastic event.
When I first moved into my studio, I had no idea what Art-A-Whirl was. What a delightful surprise it was to discover! Finding my studio and NEMAA at the same time felt like hitting the jackpot.
Thank you for all you do to support the arts community.
The sense of community within NEMAA is truly exceptional, and I have never experienced anything like it before. I feel deeply grateful for the connections I’ve made and the support I’ve received as a member.
We have an exceptional art scene here. I’ve also explored arts districts in other cities, and nothing truly compares to the vibrancy and creativity of the Northeast Arts District in Minneapolis.
I’m excited to share that this will be my 11th Art-A-Whirl. Every year, I’m amazed at how the event continues to grow and the energy remains so vibrant. I truly appreciate all the effort NEMAA puts into ensuring Art-A-Whirl is safe, successful, and full of life.
Art is a universal language that transcends barriers and allows us to connect with one another on a deeper level.
It would be just another neighborhood.
I hope that NEMAA will continue to offer valuable events like Art-A-Whirl and the many other benefits that come with membership. The Northeast Minneapolis arts community is a vibrant and essential part of the city, and I believe that NEMAA plays a crucial role in its continued growth and success.
My artwork truly feeds my soul. It brings me immense joy to offer a service that can bring happiness to others. I feel incredibly honored whenever someone asks me to create a piece of jewelry for them.
This project is made possible through a generous gift from the Minneapolis Foundation.
