Malcom Potek’s Artist Statement
“My work began some 33 years ago in the spirit of self-determination. At an early age, I was purposeful not to be alienated from the work I did in the world. Inspired by the dialectic between punk rock’s will to power and Gandhi’s advice to ‘be the change you want to see in the world,’ I ventured to create beauty.
Here, I discovered the force of meaning imbued to objects.
As an artist, I strive to reveal the value in the work of art, to make visible the inner struggle of the mind to create an idea, and the body to construct a form.
It is my goal to honestly and accurately convey the intellectual and emotional process of creation.” – Malcom Potek
At Potekglass, we don’t just create glass art. We foster a space for creativity, learning, and community. Whether you’re interested in a custom project, joining a class, or planning a group event, Potekglass is where art and innovation come to life.
