From brick people to realistic oil paintings you may find humor in my work, or think it’s just weird. I love working with whatever interests me at the time, old medical books and found objects are treasures, as is oil paint and clay….I guess everything…
My studio is located in the Casket Arts Building, 204, sharing with four incredible Jewelry Artists. I have been an established Northeast Minneapolis Artist since 1994, showing my work in Michigan, Minnesota, and other states since 1988.
At age six I was picked to be a student demonstarting artwork on the “Art Train”, about eight cars were made into galleries with one being a workroom/classroom. This train traveled around Michigan in the mid 1960’s, stopping in towns as an exhibit for short periods of time. They recruited local students to be in the workroom while the tours were going on. I made my dog “twiggy” (who got fat later in life but that’s another story). I clearly remember the gallery cars with wall art and installations and thinking “I will have a studio one day and be in galleries”. Thanks to Miss Cornelius, Smith Elementary Art Teacher in 1969.
