Kristine Fretheim

More than anything, I love painting the natural world, just as it is. It thrills me to see the abstract qualities of design are right there, uncontrived, in the gardens and woods that inspire my artwork. Our senses allow us to experience the world with vivid, awake, awareness key to being fully alive in each precious moment. I hope my paintings remind people of their own capacity to wake up to the wondrous world around them, and of how fresh and new each moment truly is.

I received formal invitation to join the Watercolor USA Honor Society in 2011. My watercolors have been honored with awards throughout the United States and are in collections across the Midwest, including the Springfield Art Museum in Springfield, MO.
