Thanks so much for stopping by.
I picked up a DSLR camera for the first time in 2016, to cover stories as a reporter for the Northeaster newspaper. Suddenly a lifetime of paying attention had a visual outlet; creating art seemed within reach. I haven’t put the camera down since.
My work is a mix of fine art wildlife and macro photography, photojournalism, and the occasional landscape. Urban nature photography might be my favorite. I think of it as a form of street photography: candids of creatures living their lives, in spaces that are just as much theirs as they are ours.
As a science teacher, journalist, and now photographer, I love to share what I learn about this astonishing world. Whether it be capturing mating bees or a fox nabbing a robin, a social justice protest or the Northeast Parade, I’m grateful to be able to share what I’m seeing. It’s like having you at my side in that moment.
Continue below for the gallery and online shop. Here, you’ll see mainly birds and bugs, a few urban and rural landscapes, and a couple of shots with us humans in them. A few practical details:
DON’T SEE EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT? If you see something you like in the gallery or on my website that is not yet in the online shop below, or an option you would like that is not available for a particular image, please email me at email@example.com.
SHIPPING NOTES: The “free shipping” is for the Mpls-St. Paul metro area only. Your purchases will be hand-delivered in an agreed-upon, no-contact delivery. If you’re not local, or are local and would prefer me to send your purchase, I will contact you about shipping costs. You can expect it to range from around $4.00 for packs of cards, to as much as $20.00 for large (12×18) items. I do not ship professionally framed prints. It’s safer and cheaper for you to buy a print and have it framed on your end. I can advise you on that if you’d like.
BACKORDERS: Anything that is on backorder simply needs to be ordered from the printer, and I promise to do so promptly. Usually I can fulfill orders within a week.
