To capture and ruminate on our surroundings, I work mostly in the two-dimensional realms of photography, painting, drawing, collage/mixed media, and digital imaging. Increasingly I blur these disciplines through sight and facility. To celebrate such seeing I often choose nontraditional subjects as touchstones, and believe in redefining good looks. Why? Because beauty should be unpretentious, it should surprise and delight – twist and turn, confound and find anew. It should embrace new takes and complexity where these characteristics might not have been as apparent before. My work purposely eschews tired cliché, fad and fashion, to spotlight what’s really out there.
