My pots are created by handbuilding from stoneware clay slabs. The pieces are carefully constructed and formed into soft shapes. Surfaces are deliberately textured and marked to enhance the pot’s design and to give your hands something to linger over as you hold a cup or pass a dish.

I choose glazes that interact with the surface so that texture is emphasized and the pots feel satisfying. The pots are fired in a reduction kiln to nearly 2300 degrees.   The firing and glazes provide durability that withstand usage.

I intend for my pots to become part of the everyday traditions of life: drinking a favorite beverage, serving food to family and friends and arranging flowers cut from your backyard. My hope is that these pots add beauty and a sense of enjoyment in their use and provide a small respite from our hectic lives.
