Night Solitude Series

These were done in layers. First layer of paint was multi-colors. Second layer was white, third layer was black, and the image carved into the wet black paint. Copper paint was applied as a thin glaze. Copper, white, and black were used for final touch-ups.

I created 5 of these 5″x5″ square paintings at a solo retreat in Bemidji, Minnesota. I was influenced by how wonderful it is to be outside at night in a place where you can see the stars.

Prints and close up photos available at Fine Art America.

The surface is Aquaboard which is hardboard coated on one side with a primer. They do not have hangers on the back, but I’ll include the tabletop easel for an extra $5.
