During the month of February collage artist, Kristi Abbott, set herself a challenge of making a new piece of artwork every day.  Her parameters were that the works needed to be created from beautiful, discontinued wallpapers that she was gifted from local retailer, Abbott Paint & Carpet.

The artworks range in size from 8”x8” through to 36”x36” and cover the three themes of Blooms, Birds, and Beauties.  Inspiration has been drawn from artist greats such as Matisse and Mucha, as well as the environment, by gone eras and the stunning papers themselves.

To offer moral support and expand their creative practices, fellow gallery artists Heather Renaux, Linda Clayton, Sue Mooney and Coreen Johnson have joined Abbott to create artwork in their styles using a sample of the same discontinued papers. Their work will also be on display during the exhibition.

Come and see all the pieces in person, and potentially pick up a piece of artwork to take home.

The exhibition Opening Reception will take place March 10th from 5:30-9:00pm and then be open during the following times:

Saturday March 11th – noon till 4pm

Sunday March 12th – noon till 4pm

Friday March 17th – 5-9pm

Saturday March 18th – noon till 4pm

Sunday March 19th – noon till 4pm

Light refreshments will be served at the Opening Reception. All dates are free and open to the public.
