Meet visual artist Annie Hejny as she shares about the making of her paintings featured in When the Water Calls Me Back.
Embracing the luminous reflections and cyclical transformations of rivers and lakes, visual artist Annie Irene Hejny combines collected freshwater sand sediment with acrylic to share the stories of these places. From the Mississippi River to Lake Michigan, her relationship with water illuminates each canvas as an invitation for us to remember that we are bodies of water too.
When the Water Calls Me Back showcases new paintings from Hejny’s Water Series. On view now through December 18th, 2022.
