Sarah Vanasse Miles

Devoted to the art and philosophy of painting, Sarah Vanasse Miles works in the field of realism while playing with its impact on abstract figurative work. Her multidisciplinary approach to contemporary painting is evidenced in her work on both large and small scales. Influenced by religious iconography; post-impressionism; Miles focuses on oil painting using both classic atelier and contemporary methods.

Miles shows her work throughout Minnesota, New York City, Miami, and abroad. In 2023 Miles exhibited her first solo show at the Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont, MN. The exhibition showcased 32 paintings and drawings spanning the past 5 years. Formally educated in the field of theology, Miles is a self taught artist. Miles’s studio is based in Rochester, MN.
