This piece is part of my Northwoods Mythical Creatures series. Griffinches are the tiny counterparts to Griffins; they have the head and wings of a finch, and the paws of a small kitten. They can easily blend in and disguise themselves as a normal Goldfinch, and they live together in harmony. They are timid and peaceful creatures by nature, but they’ve been know to tussle with red squirrels over sunflower seeds. They are highly intelligent, and if they see a human, they will simply tuck their little paws into their plumage so that they’ll be mistaken for a common songbird.
