Square Bowl in Quartersawn White Oak
This beautiful wooden bowl was turned on a lathe. It is quarter sawn white oak from a Minneapolis tree. It exhibits the ray flecks (or medullary rays), which is an unusual characteristic of white oak. Turned square bowls are a specialty of mine. Most turned bowls are completely round. The top is decorated with pyrography lines. It has a natural finish with no stain or dye.
