Cyanotype print in the design of a river winding around the the mountains. Made on watercolor paper using the sun and a hand made template. Print is 15 11/16′ x12′  in size.

Cyanotypes, also known as ‘blue prints’ is an old 19th century photo process. Chemistry is mixed together and hand coated on the paper. Then light from the sun is used to expose the image. Instead of silver salts like most film and other darkroom processes use, cyanotypes are made with iron salts which gives it that distinct blue color.
