Red Robes

40 x 30 oil on gallery wrapped canvas.

These robes were worn by women in China’s last dynasty. From the “Power and Beauty” exhibit at MIA in 2018. I was so inspired by this amazing exhibit at MIA that year…. but it was all the garments from the domestic world not royal court spaces (garments worn by women and children at home) that really brought it all to life for me.
