Lab Coat on a Lab Coat

17 x 12 oil on cotton lab coat. Painted on U of M parking facility coat.

In 2004 MIA had an exhibit called ” Beauford Delaney: From New York to Paris”. He had painted one of his pieces on a the back of a trench coat when he did not have any available canvas.

It also reminded me of one of MIAs most interesting Degas portraits painted on striped cotton ticking that Degas used when he was visiting friends at a country house in 1871.
