Fox Grapes

These are wild grapes that are native to eastern North America. I found these near my home in Minnesota. Do not confuse these with “Moonseed” which are poisonous. The easiest way to tell the difference is by the seeds. Edible wild grapes have pear-shaped seeds, usually more than one in each grape. Moonseed berries have one flat seed that is often crescent shaped. If you are not sure, take a pass on this one.

Prints can be ordered at Fine Art America.

The original painting is watercolor and ink on cold-pressed watercolor paper. Size is 7.5×11 inches. Unframed.
