Forage. Lambsquarters

It is good to know about the plants growing around you. Lambsquarters can be a source of food. For most of my life I called this plant “pigweed”. Maybe that is another name for it, maybe I was just wrong. The distinguishing characteristic is the lighter green, almost white new leaves at the top. Do your research before eating. I think it tastes like spinach.

This is the 4th of 9 watercolor paintings that are the “Forage” series.

Prints can be ordered from Fine Art America.

The original is a watercolor and ink mixed media artwork on 12×16 hot press watercolor paper (140lb).

The frame is 16×20 gray-brown wood with a black mat.
