Print, Books, or Cards: “Flowerview: One of Each”

This watercolor on Yupo paper was inspired by the poem, Now We Will Speak in Flowers by Micki Blenkush. It is the cover of Blenkush’s book of poems by the same name.

The concept in the poem that intrigued me was the idea that communication can still happen even when talking is not possible. The actors in the poem are in a garden and one of them cannot find the words they want to say but can point out the species of flowers and name them. The point was that the two of them being together was enough. Knowing the flowers was their shared experience.

The notecards are 5″ x 7″ folded cards with envelopes. They are currently out of stock. If at least 10 are ordered, I’ll get more printed.
