I have been experimenting with different methods to embellish wooden objects that I make. This is my most embellished piece to date. I turned this red maple bowl on a lathe. I also textured different parts of the bowl on the lathe. Then I used a number of techniques to color the bowl. My goal was to make it look like something that might have come out of an Egyptian pyramid. It was a fun project, and I will continue to investigate the techniques I used on this bowl.
This bowl is 2¼” high x 8¾” in diameter.
