St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral, with its beautiful architecture and iconography, was founded in 1887 by Carpatho-Rusyn immigrants and is a parish of the Orthodox Church in America. (www.stmarysoca.org) St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral will be open to visitors during Art-A-Whirl with an exhibit of ICONS and its unique and spectacular interior. St. Mary’s is located on the corner of 17th Ave. and 5th St. in the center of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District and provides FREE ART-A-WHIRL PARKING on the trolley line. St. Mary’s is handicap accessible–entry, elevator, and restrooms.
St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral is open on Friday, Saturday & Sunday of Art-A-Whirl weekend.
