NEMAA 10×10

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be holding the NEMAA 10×10 Member Fundraiser in person. Instead, we are launching the NEMAA 10×10 Online Shop on September 26, 2020 at 5pm. This virtual event will serve as both a fundraiser for NEMAA as well as a promotional and sales opportunity for NEMAA artists who donate work.

In keeping with the fun, mysterious nature of last year’s show, all available artwork will be initially displayed anonymously and available for purchase for $35.00. Once a piece is purchased, it will be marked “sold” and the artist’s name and link to their artawhirl.org shop/profile will appear, directing viewers that like the work to explore and potentially purchase more of the artist’s work from their own site. Art buyer information will be shared with the artist.

We invite all current NEMAA members to exhibit and donate original 2D and 3D artwork that is, or fits within, a 10×10-inch or 10x10x10-inch parameter. Members are encouraged to donate as many pieces as they would like, in any and all mediums. The deadline to submit work is Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Note: Artists who donate before August 16th, 2020 will be given priority to appear in 10×10 promotions.

Free surfaces

Wet Paint is donating 10×10-inch canvas panels, wood panels, and watercolor paper to NEMAA artists creating work for 10×10 through August 16 (one month before deadline). Click here to fill out the order form. Wet Paint will contact you when your materials are ready for curbside pickup at their store.

Submission Process

Include one submission form for each piece of artwork being submitted (blank forms will be available in the NKB lobby). Please protect artwork for transit. NEMAA will accept artwork until Wednesday, September 16, 2020.

FAQs

How long will the 10×10 shop site be up?
We will keep the shop up indefinitely, but heavily market the launch and first-come, first-served component of purchasing the art.

Do I have to be a current NEMAA member to participate?
Yes. Interested in joining NEMAA? Check out our member benefits.

How many pieces can I donate?
As many as you would like.

Does the work I donate have to be original?
Yes, please. Unless it is a photograph or digital photographic print.

Can I sell prints or copies of the original work I donated to 10×10 in my shop?
Yes, feel free.

Will NEMAA return unsold work?
Since we are keeping the shop up indefinitely, all work has the potential to sell at any time, so we will keep the artwork in stock unless you ask us to return it after December 31st, 2020.

Do I need to provide a digital image of my piece?
No. NEMAA will handle photographing all donated pieces, unless you wish to provide the image. If that is the case, email the image to nemaa10x10@nemaa.org after you have submitted work.

Can I provide more than one image of my piece?
Not at present. One image per piece. For 3D pieces we will create a sidebar of thumbnails within the image.

If my piece is sold, will NEMAA share the buyer info with me?
Yes. We will email you the information.

How will buyers pick up purchased work?
NEMAA will handle artwork shipping and pick up by providing a paid shipping option or free pick-up at Northrup King Building during specific days and hours after the initial 10×10 launch.

Do I need to be doing something when the shop launches on September 26th?
Please share the 10×10 shop link with your networks and make sure your artawhirl.org shop or profile is up-to-date. Watch your email for notifications about possible sales from your own personal shop.
