In this virtual four-session introductory workshop, students will learn to carve and print a single layer woodcut (one color) while gaining an appreciation for this printmaking process. There will be ample time between sessions allowing students to work at their own pace. Instruction will cover home studio setup, simplifying an image to suit the media, reverse imagery, safe carving techniques and hand printing. The final session will be focused on fellowship and sharing as students present their finished works and discuss the successes and challenges they encountered. Open to all skill levels, ages 16 and over.
