Looking for a way to kick-off your summer? Seeking ways to reconnect with nature? Curious about exploring new art materials or techniques?
Join visual artist and Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, Annie Hejny for an indoor and outdoor nature-based painting workshop. Students will be guided through Annie’s painting techniques and nature-inspiration gathering which includes a water collection at the shoreline of White Bear Lake and a Forest Bathing Walk at Tamarack Nature Center. In the classroom, students will move between acrylic on canvas to gouache on paper, learning basic color theory and practicing abstracting their nature observations through color, shape and composition. The Forest Bathing Walk, as well as other reflection activities, are an invitation into embodiment before creating in the studio. Art experience is not required or necessary — just an openness to learning, trying and playing.
