How can we see our identities as fluid material to utilize and explore in our work? How can we use our art making as a means of extending our many identities? This course will focus on interdisciplinary approaches to creating narratives of selfhood. We will centralize vulnerability and delve into everything from zine making and collage to cell phone photography and creative writing. Engaging with the personal is a form of resistance and we will not be concerned with high production value or mastery. Students will be expected to journal and should be willing to experiment and expand upon their personal practice. Scholarships are readily available!
