SOGN VALLEY ART FAIR CELEBRATES 51 YEARS WITH STAGE PAINTING, LIVE MUSIC, AND VOLUMES OF ART IN CANNON FALLS, MINNESOTA

It’s all happening at the Sogn Valley Art Fair: art, music, food, and dance!
A quick drive through beautiful fall colors can take Twin Cities and Rochester residents to the end of the Sogn Valley in southeastern Minnesota to celebrate 51 years of curated art, local music, and friendships. For a joyous weekend, ArtOrg will bring together 30+ fine artists and craftspeople. They will show and sell their array of original wheel-thrown stoneware, handmade boxes, landscape paintings, prints, glass art, wood furniture, jewelry, book arts, locally grown food and wearable art. Visitors will find a fun atmosphere with music, letterpress printing by Hans Koch and Scott West of Cloud Cult will paint live!
“The Sogn Valley Fair is a community of artists and friends who gather every October to celebrate life and art, and that should go on” said Nan Skelton, wife of Sogn Valley Art Fair founder Peter Leach. The Sogn Valley Art Fair is the oldest of its kind in the area, attracting distinguished local and Midwest artists and bringing friends together for 51 years. “Every year, we host a special group of artists from across the Midwest,” said Dave Machacek, fair co-organizer and executive director of ArtOrg, a local non-profit. “Many of them have been coming back for years, because they love the camaraderie. Others are exciting artists we’ve discovered recently who bring something fresh to the mix.”
Admission is free and the fair is for all ages. Visitors can also amble to nearby restaurants, winery, brewery, and spring-fed swan pool and picnic grounds. The fair is located on the Cannon Valley and Mill Falls bike trails at Fourth Street next to the VFW in downtown Cannon Falls
